6th Sunday of Easter

I am giving you these commands so that you may love one another.
DATES OF NOTE:
May 9: Mother's Day
May 14: Feast of St. Matthias
For the benefactors of our faith community, we thank you for your support for our ministry and works. Please consider signing up to donate online here, or dropping off your donation using our mail slot.  The Mass on Tuesday, May 11 will be said for your needs and intentions.

Loving God, as a mother gives life and nourishment to her children, so you watch over your Church.
Bless these women, that they may be strengthened as Christian mothers.
Let the example of their faith and love shine forth.
Grant that we, their sons and daughters, may honour them always with a spirit of profound respect.
SUNDAY MASS
We will be offering Mass online each Sunday at 9:00 am while we are under this lockdown. Make it appointment viewing! It will be available on YouTube and our website any time after.
WATCH HERE
Our mission continues!  Great thanks to all for your continuing contributions, especially those who have signed up for recurring donations through our website.  We continue to need your support.  For those who prefer to donate through weekly envelopes, these can be dropped off at Mass on Sunday, or into the office mailbox (which is located just to the right of the school-facing side door of the office building)!

Sunday Reflection

Watch this week's Sunday reflection here!

Ever wondered what you will do to stay involved with the Church after you graduate from university? If you need or would like ideas for what to do, or where to go for resources, look no further than our new document "What to do After Graduation"!

Student Summer Discernment
The close of the academic year means that much of the student ministry is on break. Students are off to vacation, and summer jobs or positions. Some students will also be taking courses in McMaster's short, intensive spring and summer semesters. Over the summer, the Chaplaincy will have fewer events and programming.

But there is still much that occupies our time. The student executive team are already thinking, praying, and discerning the direction of next year's ministry. Please keep them in your prayers as they entrust our ministry to God and as they discern our Lord's will.

Cornerstone Project
More railings featured this week, this time on the side entrance/church hall staircase. Gone are the old 90s relics, and in its place will be sleek, modern, glass and metal!

Be sure to check out the website for more pictures of the progress!

If you would like to have a Mass celebrated for a special occasion, on behalf of a family member, a friend, or a deceased loved one, please contact the office to have that intention put into the calendar.

MARRIAGE TIP OF THE MONTH - Marriage Tip 110: Listening may be the most important aspect of any relationship, but it is also the hardest part for us to get right! Listening requires our full attention, not just to the words spoken, but also to the emotions attached. Doing so allows us to understand how our spouse is feeling and, if we listen attentively, to repeat back what we are hearing. When we do this without first making a defensive reply, issues get resolved and our spouse feels supported. Then we can reverse roles, expressing our thoughts and feelings on the issue, as our spouse becomes the listener. Happy couples work on these skills until they become second nature, thus keeping their relationship bond strong. From: Family Ministry Office.
