Bible Studies
As Catholics we are blessed to have a God who graciously feeds and sustains us at the liturgy – at not only one but two tables! Jesus gives himself to us through the living bread at the Eucharistic table. But he also feeds us at the table of the Word, where he reveals the love story of God, and invites us to participate with him in the continuation of that story. Just as we are called to “become what we eat” in the Eucharist, so we are also called to discover our own mission in the living Word of God.
So please join us as we explore the Bible during Advent, specifically looking at the Sunday liturgical texts. We will chew on the social, literary, and spiritual context of these readings, and how they might nourish us in living the Gospel in our own lives and communities. Please bring a Bible if you have one.
So come and ignite your passion for the living Word! Everyone is welcome.
We are an Easter people, and alleluia is our song. The Word of God initiates us and sustains us in being an Easter people by hearing the story of our redemption. The Easter season gives us an opportunity to reflect upon the mystery of Jesus as savior of the world, a mystery that forms us into his disciples of the resurrection.
Please join us this Easter season as we delve more deeply into this saving story in an Easter Bible Study. We will pray with, reflect upon, and learn from the Sunday lectionary texts Sundays at 10:00 am in the Papal Suite of the Saint Kateri Student Centre. We will begin on April 27 and end on June 8. The lectionary texts will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own Bible if you have one.
So celebrate this Easter by coming to join us in our study of the Bible, the saving story of Jesus the Lord!
