4th Sunday of Easter

I am the good shepherd...
SUNDAY MASS
We will be offering Mass online each Sunday at 9:00 am while we are under this strict lockdown. Make it appointment viewing! It will be available on YouTube and our website any time after.

Our mission continues!  Great thanks to all for your continuing contributions, especially those who have signed up for recurring donations through our website.  We continue to need your support.  For those who prefer to donate through weekly envelopes, these can be dropped off at Mass on Sunday, or into the office mailbox (which is located just to the right of the school-facing side door of the office building)!
Farewell, and best wishes!

Throughout the diocese, clergy (priests, deacons, and yes, even bishops(!)) are from time to time moved to new appointments. As it happens, our own Deacon Joseph will be reassigned over the coming months. Sadly this will mean Deacon Joseph will no longer be with us here at Canadian Martyrs.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Deacon Joseph and his wife Maryann for their years of service with and for the Canadian Martyrs community. Be assured of our Prayers, Deacon Joe and Maryann. You will be missed.

If you’d like to see all the priest moves/ retirements etc., just announced this week, take a look at the link in the diocese section below. Deacon moves are usually announced in the summer months, so keep an eye out for Deacon Joe and Maryann’s next adventure as it’s announced.

Sunday Reflection

Watch this week's Sunday reflection here!

On April 30th, the university chaplaincy will be having a "Dream Party"! The student faith community will be gathering to recognize and celebrate what God has done for them and in them this year. There will be stories and testimonies from many of their faith study participants and leaders, a celebration of the graduating students, and some all-around fun and games!
Join us in wishing them the best as this semester comes to an end!

Cornerstone Project
I'm not proud of it, but I'm feeling a little "10th Commandment"  about this kitchen in the student centre! That huge island will soon be surrounded by stools, upon which will one day be seated the students of our chaplaincy and beyond! It's so quiet in here now, and we're looking forward to when we hear the hum of voices and footsteps throughout the brand new office area and beautifully renovated church hall.

We are grateful for the generosity of the Diocese that has brought this project to fruition. We can’t wait until you can walk through it yourself.

Also, feel free to compliment Fr. Markus on his decor choices so far. Given his experience in interior design (ie, none) he's done a stellar job!

Be sure to check out the website for more pictures of the progress!

If you would like to have a Mass celebrated for a special occasion, on behalf of a family member, a friend, or a deceased loved one, please contact the office to have that intention put into the calendar.

World Day of Prayer for Vocations

Today the Holy Father has asked all Catholics to intercede for vocations. Will you make a special effort to ask the Lord for more vocations to the priesthood and religious life?

  • Pray for the priests who have ministered to you throughout your life, both living and dead.
  • Keep our parish priests and deacons in prayer throughout the week.
  • Encourage your children or grandchildren to consider a vocation as a priest or religious brother or sister.
  • Pray a rosary for more young men and women in our diocese to respond to God’s call.
