Fifth Sunday of Easter

I am the way, and the truth and the life...
IN THIS ISSUE:
KEY DATES:
May 10: Mother’s Day
May 11-17: National Nursing Week
---Happy Mother's Day---
We honour and pray for all the mothers among us, and thank them for their love, sacrifice, and courage in living out their vocations! We are so grateful for our mothers who have carried, nurtured, and supported us from our infancy! We also thank God for all the beautiful women who have been spiritual mothers to us, including our own Sister Mary. Finally, we thank God for giving us His own mother Mary, to accompany us, love us and pray for us in our journey as disciples of Christ.
Loving God,
We thank you for all the mothers in the world.
Bless them so that they may always give life, and nourishment to their children through firm faith, generous and selfless love, good example, and constant concern for their bodily and spriritual health.
Grant that we, their children may honor them always with the spirit of profound love, respect and thanksgiving.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

"Resilience is accepting your new reality, even if it’s less good than the one you had before. You can fight it, you can do nothing but scream about what you’ve lost, or you can accept that and try to put together something that’s good.”
– Elizabeth Edwards

This week, 10% of all donations we receive will be going to St. Martin's Manor, a residence for pregnant and parenting young women, with a primary focus of providing a continuum of care for young mothers.

In the town of Lanciano some time in the 700s, there was a monk who was struggling with the idea of transubstantiation. He was having doubts. One day, as he consecrated the bread and wine, it miraculously turned into flesh and blood.
There have many scientific evaluations of the flesh and blood, the most thorough taking place in 1970 with the permission of Pope Paul VI. The blood was found to be of human origin with the type AB.  Read more about the Miracle of Lanciano here!
