Our latest testimony is from Karen, a long-standing member of the Canadian Martyrs community, and the engine behind our recent community connect initiative! Have a listen as she talks about how her recent experiences, and how she is staying connected with our community and her faith.
Our Community Connect volunteers are in the midst of reaching out to the members of our faith community by phone. Sounds like some great conversations are happening and connections being made. Thanks to our volunteers, and to those they have called, who are giving them a welcoming response.

Covid-19: Pope offers prayer to the Virgin Mary for protection

An English-language translation of the Pope’s prayer is below:

O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope.

We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick.

At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain,

with steadfast faith.

You, Salvation of the Roman People, know what we need.

We are certain that you will provide, so that,

as you did at Cana of Galilee,

joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial.

Help us, Mother of Divine Love,

to conform ourselves to the Father’s will

and to do what Jesus tells us:

He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us,

through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen.

We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God.

Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

We'd like to thank everyone who took the time to donate online, or took a drive down to drop off an envelope at the Church this week! We'd also like to acknowledge all of those that responded to the Bishop's call for donations as part of his Easter message. Your generosity is most appreciated!

There's a bit of a special treat in this week's video appeal! Father Markus gives us a tour of his home!
Donate Now!
If you donate online, please be sure to check your junk mail if you haven't received your charitable receipt, as they sometimes get directed there by your email provider.

If you are unable to donate online, you can drop off your envelopes in the mailbox at the Church office on Tuesday between  1 -3 pm, or Thursday morning, from 10 am - 12 pm.

Because of Jesus's particular emphasis on the care of the sick, the Roman Catholic Church has become the largest non-governmental provider of healthcare in the world and is responsible for founding and running networks of hospitals across the world where medical research continues to be advanced. The Catholic Church has around 18,000 clinics, 16,000 homes for the elderly and those with special needs, and 5,500 hospitals – with 65 percent of them located in developing countries.
