As our campaign comes to its close, Father Markus has another exciting update to share with us at Mass this Sunday.
As well here is a message from Bishop Crosby.
“The One Heart One Soul campaign continues to receive donations from parishioners who want to support their Parishes and Diocese. As the second wave reaches 75% of its goal, the third wave is gearing up to begin in the New Year. Even in the middle of a pandemic, we are grateful for the enthusiasm and generosity the campaign has engendered in our Parishes.“
We share in the Bishop's gratitude for those who have pledged to Canadian Martyrs and those who have indicated that they intend to pledge.
Fall term classes have ended, and the exam period has begun! Join us in praying for our university students. This has been a tough semester for many of them, with the move to full-time remote learning and the trickle-down effects of that!
Please be sure to register to reserve your seat! You can either arrange to pick up your tickets, or print them yourself! Click the button below!

We extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Frank O’Meara at the loss of a dear father. Frank, along with his wife Elma, were long term members of Canadian Martyrs and known by many of our community. Frank gave so generously of his time and expertise in the upkeep of the church through the years and always maintained an interest in its activities, especially the Cornerstone project. May he rest in peace and his family experience God’s consolation in their loss and sadness.
The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, December 12th, is a National Day of Prayer in Solidarity with Indigenous Peoples. All are invited to join their Indigenous sisters and brothers in a special way this day through prayers and acts of solidarity. We invite you to read the message and prayer released by the CCCB Indigenous Council here.
At long last! They've arrived!
If you've reserved a Missal for yourself, please see Sr. Mary before Mass to pick up your copy, if you are attending, or you can contact the office to make arrangements to pick up your missal at the office mailbox!
Tomorrow, Sunday, December 13 is the collection day for donations for "Mary's Baby Shower". In honour of Our Mother Mary, we welcome you to drop off new items for new mothers in need! We will have boxes set up under the statue of Mary in the church for your donations. There is a special need for diapers, wipes, onesies, blankets, small toys and children's books.
In the midst of final exams and papers, we’re thinking back to all that happened this past semester. Without a doubt, the online reality brought some unwelcome changes to our academic, social, and spiritual lives as students. But this semester also brought numerous unexpected blessings, including the opportunity to connect with students we wouldn’t have been able to reach in-person, an increased dependence on closer-knit Faith Study groups, and the challenge to evaluate and cling to our personal relationships with Christ like never before. Our God knows no limits, and we praise Him for His generosity and faithfulness to us!
Asphalt! Almost ready to be driven on!!

The entrance, parking lot and exit will soon be able to be used again! However, when it is reopened, it will be one way. We'll have to enter from Main, and exit onto Emerson. See more pics on our website of the building progress!
━ Ask Yourself...
Even without the added pressures that this pandemic adds, we are bombarded daily with various duties and responsibilities. It would be easy to prioritize every but growing in holiness. How can you manage everything? I don't have the answer, but I have an idea who does. Why not touch base with Him...

His Excellency, Bishop Crosby, will celebrate Christmas Midnight Mass from the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King, Hamilton. The Midnight Mass will be preceded by a Carol Service beginning at 11:30 p.m. Both the Carol Service and the Midnight Mass will be broadcast on Salt+Light Media and shared with CHCH-TV. The Mass will be repeated on CHCH-TV at 8:00 a.m. on Christmas morning.
Due to COVID restrictions, all seating for Midnight Mass has already been reserved. Join us for the broadcast and share in the joy of this Christmas feast!
If you would like to have a Mass celebrated for a special occasion, on behalf of a family member, a friend, or a deceased loved one, please call the office to have that intention put into the calendar.
