Renewed activity!

After a small delay, which involved refining of plans, acquiring of permits (and wringing of hands) action on the construction site has resumed with vigor! The excitement around the office is palpable! We are looking forward to what will undoubtedly be beautiful, functional and spacious places for us to host community and student events.

Over the next 6 weeks (give or take) the crew will be pouring the foundations, beginning the underground work (plumbing, etc) and beginning the installation of the steel structure.

Currently, they are starting to pour the concrete footings! Very soon, we’ll see the actual footprint of the new space. This means that in about 3 weeks, we’ll see the foundation walls, and really get a sense of how big this new build will be!

I am not sure what I am looking forward to most, but at the moment, running water and a fully-functioning washroom is topping the list. Get ready guys, this renovation/build is going to be amazing, and we can’t wait to share it with you!

That giant hole was dug in less than a few hours!

Major steel beams will go through that concrete slab that is all that remains of the old meeting room!
