We continue to see the Lord at work in our community, so visible at the Easter Vigil this year! Welcome to Rachael Caroline Lam and Thomas David Laurier Gaudet who received the Sacraments of Christian Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) at our Easter Vigil. At the same Vigil, we were also honoured to complete the Sacraments of Christian Initiation with Sonya Helen Flatman and Genevieve Paul Okon, as Catholics, by their reception of Confirmation and Eucharist. All four have been part of our RCIA this year, along with involvement in Faith Studies and Alpha. Truly we continue to Invite and Form... disciples of Jesus Christ!

Pray for them, may the fruit of this moment give witness, the Lord is at work in our midst!

QR Codes

You may notice QR codes have been placed in the pews! We’re asking people that are new to the faith community, who may not already be getting our weekly community updates, to provide us with their email addresses so that we can include them in our communications, and let them know about news and events at Canadian Martyrs.

Congratulations!
Join us in welcoming Chiara Faustina LeBlanc into the Catholic community! Chiara is the new-born sister of Noah and daughter of Jesse and Kathleen LeBlanc, who are long-time members of our faith community, and serve through their music ministry at many of our Masses!

Church/Office Closure
Please note that the church and office will be closed on April 6 and 7. The team will be resting after a whirlwind of a Holy Week, and then having our quarterly offsite meeting, where we do some long-range planning and dig deeper into the things that we want to do for and with our faith community, and beyond!

Bishop’s Mass
On April 11, at the 11:30 Mass, his Excellency Douglas Crosby OMI will be coming to Canadian Martyrs to celebrate mass in celebration of our student ministry. This is an important time for us as a community to recognize and celebrate the integral role that our students play in our faith community. At the Mass, Bishop Crosby will commission next year’s student executive team with a special blessing, and he will bless all graduating students from our community.

Sunday Reflection

Watch this week's Sunday reflection with Deacon Joseph here!

Our mission continues!  Great thanks to all for your continuing contributions, especially those who have signed up for recurring donations through our website.  We continue to need your support.  For those who prefer to donate through weekly envelopes, these can be dropped off at Mass on Sunday, or to the office trailer mailbox, between 11 am & 4 pm, on Wednesdays or Saturdays.

End-of-semester Student Message
With Easter and the end of the semester, there’s so much to celebrate! Through community, prayer, learning, and journeying with each other, many students have taken action to deepen their relationships with God and commit their lives to Christ in new ways. Every small and big decision we make along the way is important, and worth celebrating. Through acknowledging the progress made by ourselves and others, we affirm that our community values each other’s growth toward sainthood, and that we are willing to walk with one another on the journey.

Winter Term Classes End
The Winter Term ends for our McMaster students at the end of the week, and are surely looking forward to a little rest and recuperation of their own. Join us in praying for their success as they write their exams!

Easter Food Drive Thanks!
Along with the CWL, we would like to thank everyone who brought donations for the Easter food drive! We ended up accumulating over 300 items to donate to the Good Shepherd program! We are again reminded that we are blessed with an extraordinarily generous faith community!

Cornerstone Project

If you drive past the new build on the Emerson side, you’ll see that they’ve reached the major milestone of installing the new doors on the entrance to the student center! They’ve also begun installing the cabinetry in the kitchen area! Be sure to check out the website for pictures of the progress!
If you would like to have a Mass celebrated for a special occasion, on behalf of a family member, a friend, or a deceased loved one, please call the office to have that intention put into the calendar.
