In the home stretch!
We're nearing the end of our campaign, with only 2 weeks to go, and we are continuing to make strides! We can now report that we are almost at $160,000 pledged!

Fr. Markus will have more updates after Mass this weekend!
Don't miss it!

Q: Why can’t I just support my parish directly?

A: Frankly, we hope you continue to support your parish directly through your regular Sunday giving. This campaign is not intended to divert funds that go toward normal operating needs. The campaign is a special effort to meet needs that go beyond the routine and that can help to set up parishes (and the Diocese) to thrive for years to come. In short, supporting this campaign is supporting your parish directly – as well as other parishes in need and various diocesan ministries.

For a full list of FAQs and much more about the campaign, visit www.oneheartonesoul.ca.
After many months of searching, we have found our new Campus Coordinator! Check out his short introductory video. Be sure to say hi when you see him around and join us in welcoming him warmly to our faith community!
We congratulate the students from Canadian Martyrs Catholic Elementary School on the occasion of their First Communion which took place on Saturday, November 7. The children have been waiting since May when their reception of this sacrament was delayed due to the coronavirus May they always remember, as they celebrate today, that God's love will always be there to comfort, guide and bless them!
Join us in welcoming to our faith community, the newly baptized Riley Elisabeth! May Riley and her parents always know of God’s deep love for them, and be surrounded by the care and support of family, friends and community!
On November 11, a member of our community will be in attendance at a gathering to commemorate those names listed on the West Hamilton cenotaph at St. George’s Reformed Episcopal Church, presenting a memorial wreath in remembrance of those who offer their lives in service and defence of our country and freedoms. The event will be held outside from 10:45 am to 11:15 am, and will observe Covid safety measures. Members of our faith community are invited to attend.
Let us pray for all who suffer as a result of conflict, and ask that God may give us peace: for the servicemen and women who have died in the violence of war, each one remembered by and known to God; may God give peace.
We're trying something out! Latin Mass at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings. This is a Novus Ordo Mass, meaning, the "Ordinary Form" which is what is typically celebrated at Canadian Martyrs but just in Latin. If you've never attended a Latin Mass, you can find a Latin missalette here to follow along!

Tell us a boring (or interesting!) fact about you?
I have volunteered since December 2005 at various sites in Hamilton until the pandemic kept me home.
Progress on the interior, while somewhat less impressive than the brickwork, is happening! Fr. Markus finally has a staircase (of sorts).
See more pics on our website of the building progress!
Last week, students brought some tough, thought-provoking questions to an excellent panel of Catholics at “Stump the Catholic.” The panelists’ experiences and perspectives led to great answers and discussion. There were so many questions that they could not all be responded to during the event, but students have the opportunity to bring their questions to Fr. Markus during his AMA (Ask Me Anything) Zoom sessions every other Thursday afternoon.

"Keep awake, therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour." Listen with your heart as well as with your ears for then you may accept the call to serve in the priesthood. If God is calling you, contact Fr. Michael King, Vocation Director, Diocese of Hamilton at 905-528-7988 or vocations@hamiltondiocese.com.

If you would like to have a Mass celebrated for a special occasion, on behalf of a family member, a friend, or a deceased loved one, please call the office to have that intention put into the calendar.
