Rite of Election Recap

Last week, the Cathedral Basilica was filled with excitement as it hosted the Rite of Election, a significant event for Jesse and Eddy, two catechumens who are preparing to become members of the Catholic Church.
The Rite of Election is a special liturgical ceremony that marks the beginning of the final stage of their preparation journey, as they approach the Easter Vigil when they will receive the sacraments of initiation.
The ceremony was presided over by Bishop Crosby, who formally recognized Jesse and Eddy as catechumens and declared them ready to receive the sacraments. With their families and the community present, the atmosphere was electric as everyone celebrated this important milestone in their spiritual journey. It was a beautiful occasion, filled with joy, hope, and love, as Jesse and Eddy took another step towards joining the Catholic faith.
