This workshop is for anybody who wants to learn how to think and act in light of the Church’s social teachings, and learn how they can put their faith into practice.
In this workshop, attendees will
Learn how to analyze local and global issues through the lens of the Church’s social doctrine
Hear first-hand accounts of the devastating effects of poverty and the systems that perpetuate the cycle of poverty
Understand charity and justice as the two fundamental elements of Christian service
Learn about volunteer opportunities in the community to put faith into practice
This workshop has been run in schools and parishes within the Diocese of Hamilton for several years. The workshop was created by Josephine D’Amico, who has over 30 years of experience in the Social Awareness Office and the Justice and Peace Commission of the Diocese of Hamilton and is facilitated by Christine Mazur, who is a teacher in the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board.
