World Mission Sunday

World Mission Sunday is an annual event celebrated by Catholics worldwide to raise awareness and support for missionary work. It takes place on the third Sunday of October, with this year's date being October 22.

The event was established by Pope Pius XI in 1926 as a way to encourage Catholics to participate in the Church's mission of spreading the Gospel to all nations. World Mission Sunday aims to foster a sense of global solidarity among Catholics and provide financial assistance to mission dioceses, particularly in developing countries. The funds raised during this event are used to support various missionary activities, such as building churches, schools, and medical facilities and providing aid to the poor and marginalized.

Participating in World Mission Sunday can be a meaningful way for our parish to support the Church's mission and to learn more about the challenges and successes of missionary work around the world. By joining in prayer, reflection, and charitable giving, we can contribute to the Church's growth and our global community's well-being.
