Chaplaincy Leadership Retreat 2022
On Saturday, August 27th, the McMaster Catholic Chaplaincy hosted the annual Leadership Summit: “In The Name of Jesus”. The Leadership Summit is the annual retreat for the university chaplaincies across the Hamilton Diocese to gather, have fun, pray, and plan the upcoming year. Nearly 35 students, including those from the University of Waterloo and the University of Guelph joined together for a jam-packed day.
The day began with a few fun games and icebreakers–which were much needed after a long summer and with a few new faces. The speaker sessions were held by Bishop Lobsinger and Fr. Daniel Corso, from the diocese of St. Catherines. Bishop Lobsinger spoke with the students about talents and how they are both important and relevant to their roles as leaders of the chaplaincy, and Fr. Daniel Corso discussed his experience in chaplaincy.
The leaders were filled spiritually through the celebration of Mass, adoration, and praise and worship. The successful night ended with evening prayer and a bonfire! Leaders were able to connect and reflect by the fire, all while roasting hotdogs and making delicious s’mores.
A huge thank you to all of the student leaders and members of the senior leadership team who made this possible. Their time and dedication amounted to a fantastic retreat for the upcoming student leaders.
