Book of Remembrance

As November approaches, we would like to share a solemn and meaningful tradition that holds a special place in our hearts at Canadian Martyrs Church – the Book of Remembrance.

Why a Book of Remembrance?

November is a month dedicated to remembering and praying for the souls of our departed loved ones. We hold onto the belief that through our prayers, we can provide comfort and support to those who have gone before us, helping them find eternal peace in the loving presence of God. The Book of Remembrance allows us to come together as a community in this spiritual journey.

How It Works:

  • Adding Names: You are invited to submit the names of your beloved departed. Whether they were Catholic or not, we will include them in our prayers during this sacred month.

  • Visiting the Church: When you visit Canadian Martyrs Church during our regular hours, you will find the Book of Remembrance in a place of reverence.

  • Writing a Tribute: In the book, you are encouraged to compose a short tribute or message in honour of the person you wish to remember.

  • Joining Our Prayers: Throughout November, these individuals will be included in our prayers and Mass intentions. It is a way for us to keep their memory alive and provide them with the spiritual support they may need.

We wholeheartedly invite all members of our community to partake in this deeply meaningful tradition. Come forward, add the names of your loved ones, and let us unite in prayer during this special month of remembrance.

The Book of Remembrance is a poignant and heartfelt tradition that underscores the strength of our community and the power of prayer. It allows us to demonstrate our love and unwavering support for those who have left us. You can find it in the church, on a podium nearest the side chapel.

Together, let us make November a time of profound reflection, unity, and remembrance.
