Patron Saint of Beer?

Saint Arnold of Soissons is the patron saint of hop-pickers and Belgian brewers. He is often portrayed carrying a Bishop's mitre, and a mash rake (a tool used in the process of brewing and distilling). He saved lives due to his habit of encouraging local peasants to drink beer (due to its "gift of health") instead of water. During the brewing process, the water was boiled, killing pathogens that were spreading illness.  One of the miracles that was attributed to him on his canonisation, was when a monastery's beer supply — destroyed after part of its roof collapsed — was miraculously restored after his prayer!
So now you know!
